GATHER EMERGENCY SUPPLIES

  • Important papers such as passport, diving licneses, insurance policies and ID’s should be kept in a waterproof container.
  • Two week’s supply of medication and prescriptions – remember to check on elderly relatives too.
  • Bottled Water: The recommended amount is 1 gallon of water per person per day for 3-7 days.
  • Water purification tablets
  • Well stocked First Aid kit
  • Flash lights, lanterns, battery powered radio & extra batteries
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Fully charged cell-phones, cables and charger and separate charged power bank
  • Stock plenty of ready-to-eat and non-Perishable Foods for 3-7 days – for instance:-
    • Powdered or individually packed drinks
    • Crackers, cereals, cookies & snacks
    • Granola bars and dried fruit
    • Canned goods
    • Any special dietary foods
    • Powdered or shelf pack milk
    • Don’t forget pet supplies – a 2-week supply too
  • Manual can opener
  • Keep a supply of household supplies like bleach, paper towels, trash bags, toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer and liquid detergent
  • Paper plates and disposable utensils
  • Protective clothing/rainwear and sturdy shoes
  • BBQ, charcoal and matches
  • Toiletries and anti-bacterial wipes
  • Mosquito repellant
  • Pillows, blankets and sleeping bags
  • Supply of games, books and playing cards
  • Baby supplies like diapers and food
